Privacy Policy

The short version

Warranty does not collect your data. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no account to create. Your items and your receipt photos live on your devices and in your own private iCloud, which nobody else can read — not the developer, and not Apple.

What the app stores

Everything you enter in the app:

• The items you add — what you bought, the shop, the purchase date, the price, the warranty length, the serial number and any notes
• The photos you attach to them — receipts, products, serial plates
• Your reminder preference — how many days before expiry you want to be told

This is written to a private database inside the app's own container on your device, and mirrored to the private CloudKit database of your Apple Account so your other devices see the same list. That database belongs to you. Apple hosts it; the developer of this app has no access to it and no way to obtain access.

What the app does not do

• It does not send your data to any server of ours, because there is not one.
• It does not use analytics, advertising identifiers or crash-reporting services.
• It does not ask for an account, an email address or any personal details.
• It does not read your location, your contacts, your calendar or your Apple Health data.
• It does not share or sell anything, because nothing leaves your own account to be shared or sold.

Camera and photos

Warranty asks for the camera when you photograph a receipt, and asks the system photo picker for a picture when you choose one from your library. It only ever receives the images you take or specifically select — it cannot browse your library.

Text is read off a receipt entirely on your device, by Apple's own on-device frameworks. No image and no recognised text is uploaded anywhere to be processed.

Notifications

If you allow them, Warranty schedules a local notification for each item, ahead of the date its warranty runs out. These are scheduled by your iPhone and delivered by your iPhone — no server is involved. You can revoke the permission in Settings › Notifications › Warranty, and the app carries on working without them.

PDF export

Exporting an item writes a one-page PDF into the app's temporary folder and hands it to the system share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice — Warranty does not send it anywhere on its own.

Deleting your data

Deleting an item removes it from this device and from your iCloud database. Deleting Warranty from your iPhone removes everything it holds locally; to remove the synced copy as well, use Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.

Your iCloud data is covered by Apple's privacy policy rather than this one.

Children

Warranty is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Warranty ever collects data, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described in the app's release notes.
